Rockport State Park, located just 8 miles east of Concrete’s Town Center, is an amazing and very accessible hiking area. The park’s ancient trees are an extraordinary example of old-growth forest not found in many other places, especially so close to a paved highway. A Discover Pass is required to park (look here for free days if you want to save money), but the trails are family-friendly and require very little hiking experience. We do recommend you wear sturdy shoes or boots, as the area can be muddy and slippery at times.
