What are you doing for fun this summer? With so many regular events being postponed or canceled, some of us are feeling a little let down. That’s why the Concrete Chamber of Commerce is planning something special for the Fourth of July.

For the last nine years, the Chamber has hosted a family-friendly event to mark Independence Day. While none of the usual activities are acceptable right now, we believe there are ways to connect and celebrate safely.

On Saturday, July 4 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m., a “reverse parade” will take place on Main Street. We’re calling it the Concrete Caravan. 🚗 🚙 🚓

Participants will stay safely in their cars 🚘 🚖 while traveling the route on Main Street to Town Center. Who knows what you might see along the way? There could be famous characters — including Uncle Sam! – and happy volunteers.

In Town Center, you can treat yourself to popcorn 🍿 or ice cream 🍨 at the Concrete Theatre, served at curbside, or a carry-out meal ordered from the Lonestar Restaurant.

Then you can cruise around Bear Square to enjoy live music provided by Marcia Kester, a popular musician known for her upbeat personality.

Everyone can be part of the fun. Want to fire up your community spirit and help with this event?

If you have a business or residence along Main Street, you’re encouraged to decorate a “stay-in-place float” or maybe just stand out front with a flag. Or certainly you and your family can sing, dance and wave as the parade goes by, right? 🚗 🚙 🚓

If you’d like to be included, please send a message to: Chamber@Concrete-WA.com and let us know what part you want to play in the 4th of July Concrete Caravan.

Please note: this event will adapt to any changes necessary to adhere to the WA State Safe Start policies, and may be updated as we move through the 4 phases.
