Cascade Days – Food Contest Entry

Fill out and return this portion with your entry along with $5 entry fee. Drop off at the Saturday Market located at the Concrete Community Center on Saturday, August 19th from 10:00-11:30AM. Judging will be from 12:00-2:00PM. Prizes will be awarded at 2:00PM.
Entries:
  • $5 entry fee per item
  • Entries must include the recipe and complete canning instructions. (Please do NOT include your name or identification on the recipe).
  • Entry must be in the name of the person who made it.
  • Baked items must be in a disposable or give-away container and covered.
  • Canned items must be sealed in the original jar.
  • Only 1 entry per category per person.
  • All entries will be raffled off at the Bake Walk, not returned.
Categories:
  1. Cake – Judged on quality and taste, not decoration.
  2. Fruit pie – No cream filled or chiffon pies, cream based or uncooked products.
  3. Cookies – A minimum dozen required.
  4. Yeast bread – full loaf or minimum 12 rolls
  5. Quick bread – full loaf or minimum 12 muffins
    6. Jam, Jelly, Preserves, Conserves or Marmalade
  6. Pickles or Relish
    Judging:
    • A panel of qualified judges will rate the entries for taste, texture, consistency, and appearance.
    • Judging is done on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the highest) for each category. The top 3 in each category will receive a prize.
    • This is blind judging, and all decisions of the judges are final.
    (Example: “Marionberry Marmalade” or “Pretty Pickled Peppers,” NO PERSONAL IDENTIFIERS, PLEASE!
