The thrill of adventure, the beauty of nature, and the power of storytelling all come together at the Concrete Mountain Film Festival.

Nestled in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, this festival celebrates the spirit of exploration and the wonders of the natural world. From heart-pounding expeditions to breathtaking landscapes, this film festival showcases the best in documentaries and live presentations, inspiring audiences to embark on their own adventures.

A Celebration of Adventure

At the Mountain Film Festival, adventure takes center stage. Each film tells a unique story of exploration, pushing the boundaries of human endurance, and showcasing the incredible feats of outdoor enthusiasts. From climbing towering peaks to navigating treacherous rivers, these films capture the essence of adventure in its purest form. You’ll be transported to remote corners of the globe, immersing yourself in the beauty and excitement of the natural world.

For example: On Saturday night, we’ll show a dozen different documentaries — about hiking, biking, skiing and more. You’ll see people of all ages and backgrounds enjoying the outdoors.

An during the day on Saturday, you’ll hear from peoplle who coordinate local programs designed to help you and your family enjoy the adventures right here in our backyard.

Inspiring Conservation

Beyond the adrenaline rush, this year’s Mountain Film Festival also serves as a platform for environmental awareness and conservation. Many of the films highlight the fragile beauty of our planet and the urgent need to protect it. Through breathtaking cinematography and powerful narratives, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the natural world. You may be inspired to take action to preserve it for future generations.

From the towering peaks of the Himalayas to the pristine wilderness of the Arctic, these films remind us of the importance of stewardship and environmental responsibility.

Speaking of the Arctic, don’t miss “Beyond the Summit,” our film on Thursday, April 18. It’s an eye-opener!

Community and Connection

One of the most magical aspects of the Mountain Film Festival is the sense of community it fosters. Outdoor enthusiasts from all walks of life come together to share their passion for adventure and storytelling. Whether you’re a seasoned mountaineer or a weekend hiker, you’ll find a welcoming community of like-minded individuals at the event.

From lively discussions to impromptu hiking trips, the festival can be a hub of camaraderie and connection, where friendships are forged and shared experiences are celebrated.

The most gratifying results of the last couple years of our film festival have been the number of people we’ve been able to connect. People who came to a presentation and said, “Wow, I didn’t know there was someone in our community doing that!”

A Platform for Diversity

The Mountain Film Festival is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the outdoor community. Through a diverse lineup of films and speakers, the festival amplifies voices that are often underrepresented in outdoor media.

From female climbers shattering glass ceilings to BIPOC adventurers reclaiming their place in the outdoors, the festival celebrates the rich tapestry of human experience and encourages greater diversity in outdoor spaces. By championing inclusivity, the Concrete Mountain Film Festival seeks to make the outdoors a more welcoming and accessible place for all.

We’ve loved screening the documentaties from the Telluride festival because so many of them feature storytellers from different walks of life. And all of these films are informative and fun to watch.

Beyond the Screen

The Mountain Film Festival is more than just a series of film screenings—it’s an immersive experience that extends beyond the screen. In addition to film screenings, the festival features discussions that allow attendees to engage with the themes of the films on a deeper level.

Whether you learn where to go for a family-friendly hike, how to start trail running, what mushrooms are safe to eat, or where to climb a challenging peak, there are opportunities to connect with people who can point you in the right direction.

Join us for a celebration of adventure, conservation, community, and diversity. Through the power of storytelling, it inspires audiences to explore the great outdoors, protect our planet, and forge meaningful connections with one another.

We’re grateful to all the presenters and sponsors who’ve helped put together this event. Hope to see you as we embark on a journey of discovery and inspiration at the Mountain Film Festival in Concrete!
